Door locks sticking
Sometimes my door locks on my 68 C-10 are very difficult to lock and unlock. You really have to push or pull hard. How do I fix this? I wanted to install power locks, but the installer said it took too much force to toggle the locks, and my locks would burn out the power motor very quickly.
any advice? |

Remove your door panel and lube all of the linkages in there. It is best to remove and clean them, then lube and reinstall all the parts. You can do it with spray lube and get decent results though.

If lubing does not help, try pushing in on the door when locking/unlocking. If pushing on the door helps, then there is a good chance the latches are worn and replacing should be considered.

Mine was doing the same really hard to lock. I just took off the door panel and sprayed WD-40 on the lock and latch and it works great now.
