Disk brake conversion. 72' Cheyenne.

I have a 72 K10 that has all wheel drum brakes. I would like to do a disk swap in the front, up to what year Chevy trucks can I swap them out from?

Thanks.

A 72 has front disc brakes from the factory already

No you don't................. either the paper work is forged making it a 72 or you haven't pulled the front wheels off

In any case how should I go about changing to it front wheel disks? Can I just swap the rotors and calipers from a 73-87?

Something doesn't add up here. You want to swap discs onto a truck that already has discs? And you want to use a different year's parts instead of a matching year for some reason?

With only 2 prior posts we don't know any context or anything about your truck or project, so you'll have to fill us in.

I think 71-87 is pretty much a bolt in if you don't have discs already. (the complete axle assy) Remember to match the gear ratio.
And 71-72 would have factory disc brakes already. Drum brakes with open knuckle would be a 70 and drum with closed would be 69 and older.

It has all wheel drums currently, I wanted to go to the junkyard for all the parts I need and was nust wondering if the different years match up. For a front disk swap.
