Looking good, where did you get the dash pad from? I'm looking for one the same color too!

Thanks, man. It's good to see you're back at it. The pad came from Brothers.

It does feel good to be able to work on my truck again. Thanks for the info on the Dash Pad, it's hard to tell the actual color on some of the dealers websites. How was the fitment, any complaints? I'm doing a Blue interior in mine too, I ordered the same blue houndstooth seat cover for my Buddy Buckets a couple weeks ago that your looking to go with.

It matches pretty good with the paint. My plan was to pick a vendor and stick with them for all interior parts. Even if it is wrong, my hope is that it will be consistently wrong. It went on pretty good but did take a little work to get it to sit flat. The threads of the bolts like to catch on the dash and make that area sit high. I wouldn't want to install one with parts installed on/under the dash, that's for sure.

Re: '68 c10 build

Well, it looks like my truck building adventure will be slowing a bit. My hours at work are changing to a normal schedule which will prevent me from working at my dad's during the morning. It kind of sucks in that regard but it is much better for me and my family. I will continue to post when I can.

I did manage to get the steering column installed today and all of the glass came in this afternoon.

Re: '68 c10 build

Today we got the windshield installed, as well as the passenger side door glass, felt, door handle/lock. The glass is a tempered gray glass and is a very nice product. I should have the wing window back together tomorrow and in the truck.

Thanks! It's taking longer than I thought it would, but it's still moving forward, so I guess that's good. I'm hoping I can have it running and driving again sometime in April.

Re: '68 c10 build

Today didn't exactly go as planned. I don't know how many of you have rebuilt your wing windows but what a complete pain. We almost had it all back together and snapped the stud off the bottom. I had to disassemble another one and prep it for paint so it will be a few days before we get it installed.

Re: '68 c10 build

This morning I got the front bumper installed. We went with the "smoothie" style. I will most likely do the same on the rear but I'm not certain yet because I have yet to see one installed on a truck. Let me know if you have any pictures of one.

Front bumper and the truck look killer. Where did you pick the bumper up from.

Awesome job! Love the all of the work that has been done.

If I win the lottery in the near-distant future, I'm buying your truck.

I rebuilt a set of vent windows a few months ago it wasn't fun. Hardest part was getting rubber to stay in for me.

Thank you! The bumper came from Brother's. It was drop shipped from some where else though but I'm not sure where.

Yeah it is brutal. I still haven't worked on them again. I'll get it done when I get some time though.

Re: '68 c10 build

Been a few weeks since I have been able to work on the truck or post any pictures. However, I was able to spend a couple of days recently on it.

Last Thursday, I got the radiator installed. We went with a Mattson Radiator. They are pricey but totally worth it. Everything about the experience was pleasant. I was also able to get the upper and lower radiator hoses installed. I used the factory Pontiac G8 GT hoses. Had to cut a few inches off the lower, and splice the upper in the middle. Came out pretty clean.

Re: '68 c10 build

Yesterday morning I was able to install the rear glass. First time I have ever been involved with installing one. My dad used the rope trick. Pretty cool to see.

Re: '68 c10 build

A while back we decided to paint the wing window frames white to match the top. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it so we installed one of them without the glass yesterday just to make sure. I think it looks really clean. Opinions?

Last week my dad got the underside of the hood painted. The top was also ready for final blocking.

Re: '68 c10 build

Yesterday afternoon I stopped by and they had finished blocking the hood and got it painted. This was literally about 30 seconds after the final coat of clear. Pics wont do it justice but this thing is STRAIGHT.
