Instrument Cluster Bulb Tester

-
I was cleaning up a cluster for one of my trucks and I could tell some of the bulbs were bad. I was trying to hold wires on the bulb holders that I had clipped to a 12v battery. I was getting a little frustrated so I came up with this simple bulb tester. It isn't real pretty but I was in a hurry.

I dug out one of my old 12VDC power supplies and cut the plug off of it, went out to the barn and found a side marker pigtail from a wire loom I had cut up, connected the pigtail to the power supply, and I had an instant bulb tester. It is usually easy to determine if bulbs are bad because they are black, but I have had some clear ones that have been bad too. I have more clusters to clean up so I will have a lot of use for it. Makes it quick & easy.

Thanks guys. That's one benefit of being a pack rat, I have all of this stuff laying around...... I always grab a few bulbs when I'm at the salvage yards too.
