dakota digital mounting ?
Hi all
Where is everyone mounting the control boxes for the vhx dash? Also, did y'all just splice into the factory cluster harness for the indicator and warning lights. Thanks |

I'm interested to hear the answers to your questions...I just ordered the VHX kit myself. Looks great...can't wait to install it.

Re: dakota digital mounting ?
I put one of these VHX instrument panels in my truck. Firstly, I have installed a Vintage Air unit and I have blocked off the kick panel vents. I won't be using those vents anymore. The VA unit comes with a block-off plate for the passenger side, but I had them include a second one for the driver side also.
I mounted the control box to the top of the driver side kick panel vent block-off plate. You will need to intercept the functions you intend to use (turn signals, high beam indicator, gauges... ) and route them to the control box. You'll need a good wiring diagram for your truck. I did mine in conjunction with a complete re-wire of my truck. The VHX is really nice and you'll like it a lot.
