Exclamation bb and th-400 large trany humps

i found out why these all go together.when i put my truck together i set the motor and tranny in before the body,in which i have a small tranny hump cab.well when i took the motor out, no trouble. putting it back was a different story.found a broken motor mount,so i installed the 72 mounts and did away with the early style, anyways the tranny won't go high enough to line up with the motor and clear the motor mounts.

the 72 style mounts make engine sit up higher than the 68-71 ones, right ?

i know that the 73-up ones make them sit lots higher than the 67-72 ones(SBC ones) probably almost up as high as 6 cyl trees make SBC sit

I have a 70 small hump with a 402 and 72 motor mounts with a 700R4 and there is tons of room over the trans. Do you think you might need new cab mounts?

when i went to install motor the tranny wound'nt go high enough to match the motor and clear the 72 bb motor mounts.had to take the mounts off of engine to line up and then raise engineto put them back on.when i rebuilt the th-400 there was lots of room that way but i left the motor in.any ways lots of room with it in,but just not enough height when putting the motor back in.I finish it tonight for the mounts, now i get to put everything back on it,can't wait to hear it run.
