67 C10 Big block frame notches

I need to notch my 67 frame for a big block installation. I traced some patterns off a 68 frame.

Here are the cut lines transferred onto my frame.

Before I start cutting I want to ask, do they look correct?

That's quite a notch, have to take out that much?

Wow, never mind I just measured my frame 1-3/4'' wide flange at the top. Looks like a lot with the template there

I guess they recently changed the frame on big block trucks?
Weren't they were all the same when manufactured....

I get it now. Its a 67, I never noticed the frame was different except for the steering box.

No, I don't have a 67 but I went and looked at both my trucks 68 GMC and a 69 GMC. Look the same as your template.

Cool, that's what I wanted to hear, before I start cutting.
Thanks for checking.

Re: 67 C10 Big block frame notches

Kudos too you for making the cut too resemble factory rails.
That's a pretty good cut.

I cut into the frame about 1/2" deep and I made mine about 3/8" longer than the frame stand for a little wiggle room forward and aft.

I mocked mine up with the headers and was happy I had plenty of clearance for the headers so I decided not too cut it like the factory did.

Be sure too clean up and smooth out those cuts too keep cracks at bay.

I also want is nice and smooth, so that I don't scratch myself on it while working in there.
I'll chop it up it in the morning.
