Parking brake cable help

Installed my new Inline Tube parking brake cables today! Everything went smoothly with the exception of one area...I could use some help with some pictures if anyone has some! There is a solid rod that connects the secondary cable to the frame on the passengers side. I can't figure out how this rod connects to the guide!
This rod has a half round knob on either end and non of the cable guides in this kit will fit over this part of the rod...
