Bought not built and happy about it.

After selling my last C10 six years ago, I thought it was time to add another one to the stable. As much as I'd like to build one, this opportunity presented itself and I bought it. This way, I can enjoy it while deciding what changes I'd like to make. Happy as a clam.

The details are simple; 350/350 combo, 15" truck rallys, and black vinyl seat. The bed is what really drew me to the truck. So many classic C10's that are for sale have had a ton of spray in bed liner applied often excessively. This one is the way it should be.

Like most, the gas tank need to be moved and the truck need air conditioning. And, I can't help but think that a 5.3 would look really good under the hood.

What is the main advantage to moving the gas tank? The seat doesn't hit the original tank. Just wondering. Nice truck.

Getting gas fumes out of the cab is a big one. Putting a fuel injected engine in the truck is way easier with a tank designed to work with an in tank fuel pump.

Re: Bought not built and happy about it.

Very nice! And I agree on the bed, especially if I'm looking at an original paint truck. If I get to the bed photo and it has a sprayed in bedliner, it's an instant deal killer.

Re: Bought not built and happy about it.

If I didn't have so much sentimental value in my truck (20+ years) it would be out the door and one that's done the way I want would be in it's place where all I have to do is turn a key.

Great looking color combo.

Re: Bought not built and happy about it.

Thanks for all the compliments. It's nice to see the community sees the truck the way I do. I feel like it was really flying under the radar while it was for sale and should have sold way sooner.

Re: Bought not built and happy about it.

Nice truck DPowell. I checked that one out when it was listed online and like you I wanted something I could enjoy now and not get tied up with a build. Couldn't get by without A/C though so bought this one instead. Hey I'm just down the road from you in Parker......hope to see you and your new truck some time.

My wife wanted me to buy a truck with A/C but I think we'll put a Vintage Air kit in it at some point.
Hopefully we can cross paths at a show or cruise this summer. What we need is a C10 gathering here. A good central location would be cool.
Also, how long have you had your truck? Was it an out of state purchase?

Doug

Re: Bought not built and happy about it.

I just picked it up in Mississippi last week and drove it back to Denver. Looked at several over the last six months before finding this one which is pretty well restored with just a few minor things to clean up. Also picked up a set of bucket seats and console out of a 71 on my way back through Kansas but the bench seat in this one is like new so not sure I'll be changing it out any time soon.
