I have a 1969 c10 with a 400 transmission, short shaft. I did get an after market one, but it didn't work with my truck. I'm looking/interested to know what others have used with this application. I have to assume that I'm not the only one. Thank you for your input/information I do APPRECIATE it.

Re: Transmission Cross Member

Get one from 67-72 automatic transmission crossmember. Or performance online has them also. As well as other vendors. You may have to relocate to a different position. And drill some holes. Good luck.

The one I got was from Performance Online, which is a very nice piece, but when I had it on the truck, the cross member stuck out past the end of the tail shaft and when I put the yolk in it would not have cleared the cross member when it was rotating. (this was with the mounting tab to the front) I tried to turn it around (with the mounting tab in the rear, as suggested by POL) but then the cross member doesn't clear the bolts on the transmission case.
