Drop spindle-tubular control arm question

Hey all,

I did some searching on here and haven't found the answer, but if it is on here somewhere I apologize

My '65 c10 has control arms and disk brakes off of an '87 r10...I want to go to tubular control arms...my question is whether or not the spindles/brake hubs from the '87 work on tubular control arms for a '65? Or since I already have control arms from the '87 on there, would tubular arms for an '87 work? Thanks

Once you go tubular it doesn't look look like there's too much difference. I could be easily wrong.

I did have that thought but I'm still a couple months off from actually making the purchase and it always makes me feel guilty when they answer my question and I don't buy right away haha...petty I know...haha

The 87's control arm shafts are more heavy duty than the 65's were, also they are rebuildable and much cheaper to repair/replace.

I'd go with the 87's.

I remember thinking that the ones from the 87 seemed a lot more stout than the '65's were. I think I'm going to go with the '87s but I'll double check when I go to order them, I'm just sittin here on shift being bored right now...thanks everyone!

Your 65....does it have a full 87 front clip? Prob. Go 87 for sure

Right now it's just the control arms and hubs etc, but I have the K-member. I'm going to be putting a 402 BBC in it within the year and will put the '87 K-member in when I have the front end apart to put the motor in, that's when I was going to do the control arms too
