pump to carb steel line for an L6
Greetings
I need to replace the 'reverse flare' nut at the carb on my 1971 C10 250L engine. The carb is stock Rochester 1 barrel. Can someone recommend a complete replacement line (pump-carb) or the appropriate tube flare tool for this fix. The tube diameter is 3/16" but I'm not sure what angle the end is flared too. It appears the flaring tools come in a couple different angles. thanks John |

Try Inline Tube for a new one.
I used their carb to pump fuel line on my 72 350, fit perfect, good quality. Think it was about $25, ready to bolt on. https://www.inlinetube.com/

Like Hoover fish stated it's probably cheaper just to get a
New line and replace it outright. If you do want to purchase a kit on your own here's the one that I have. It can do single or double wall flares but does not do any actual bending of the tube. I ordered a new line from inlineTube.com Only $25. Will the 'standard' 45 degree flare tool work or is a "double flare" tool needed? |

Everything I have is double flare.
When you get your tube from Inline Tube will you post a picture of it? Have they shipped it yet? I have a 1968 with a 250 and have bought 2 pump to carb lines that don't work. It makes sense they don't work...because they are all listed a fitting 67-70....even on Inline Tubes site. They look like they will work with a 67 but the carburetor is different in 68,69 and 70. The fuel inlet faces a different direction on the carb. |

I just got an email from Inline Tube saying the one I ordered for 71-72 250 has shipped. Hopefully yours has too.
I opened a NOS rebuilt carburetor today and found 2 copies of this inside. I still think they are doing it the wrong way by not using a line wrench. |

Got the line today and when I first saw the box my reaction was ........... hmmmm....... that looks too small.
But, all is good............. just had the tiniest of tweaks to get the nuts to thread in properly. I did have to really crank the nuts to get them leak tight. The quality the fuel line and fittings is excellent. This is roughly the view angle when it's in the vehicle. The carb connection faces forward on the single barrel Rochester carb. I had previously wrapped aluminum foil around the pump-carb hardline to help minimize fuel boiling after a hot shutdown. I will probably do the same heat shield treatment on the new line. I may use real heat shielding fabric this time though. Maybe use propane burner shielding blanket that you can get a the big box hardare stores. The fuel line is only ~3" above the exhaust manifold and with the alcohol rich fuel it can boil after a hot shutdown. Last edited by Carl Spangler; 06-28-2017 at 07:22 PM. |

I got mine a couple days ago. Just held it up to the motor today. Fits my 1968 perfect too.
I really wish they would get their information fixed so others with 68,69 and 70 don't buy the wrong one. I don't think my fuel line runs over the manifold where there is not something between the manifold and the line. I have the power steering bracket and the metal heat riser piece that attaches to the manifold and channels hot air up to the air cleaner. |

Fuel line runs right over the exhaust manifold. When the engine shuts down the heat from the manifold can boil the alcohol rich fuel which can cause all kinds of grief.
