Door problem

94 GMC EX-Cab SB.
The spring that holds the driver door open popped out.
The problem is the cam it rides on is gone from the bottom of the rod.
Is that replaceable without changing the whole hinge?
Thanks.
Kim

Re: Door problem

I did this job on the drivers side door om my 89 K1500. Replaced hinge pins and bushings plus the roller pin. You will need to grind or drill the top of the old roller pin to remove it. Plus i bought the spring compression tool to make the job easier. These 2 videos might help you get an idea of what the job entails.

Re: Door problem

My hinges are good (no sagging at all) so hopefully I can change it without removing the door.

Got it changed.
Old one fell right out after knocking the top off.
Had to file the knurls off the new one to get it in.
