1972 six lug rotor

Hey, doe's anybody know if there's a six lug standard rotor that will fit a 72' disk brake front end without modification? Thanks,Ken

Stock for K5/K10 only. Other half tons were all 5 lug starting in 71.

Aftermarket 6-lug rotors are a direct replacement of your 5-lug rotor . Search 6-lug disc brake swap.

Thank you for your question. Classic Performance CR-6P Upgraded Disc Conversion Rotors are replacement rotors for a Classic Performance disc brake conversion kit. These will fit stock disc brake spindles on heavy half ton applications with 1.25 thick by twelve inch factory six lug rotors and fifteen inch wheels from 1971 to 1987. This kit will not fit applications with factory five lug rotors, the calipers and spindle mounts for the calipers are not compatible.

Yup. It'll work. I used 1982 spindles with those 6 bolt rotors and it worked great.

These rotors fit any truck from 71-87 that came with 1-1/4" HD rotors. Not the 81-87 1" light duty rotors. That statement from CPP is in regards to 5-lug 88-98 trucks. They are totally different.

CPP customer service has to be the worst in the automotive business.
They make some good stuff, but I swear no one there knows what's going on.
I posted those rotors because they are the cheapest.

Call www.earlyclassic.com if you want to talk to truck guys. They sell these rotors too.

If you have a 71-72 truck there is no need to switch to 73-87 parts.

Thanks Keith. I myself pulled rotors from an 86 GMC 3/4 ton suburban and put them on my 72' without changing bearings, seals, anything about 10 yrs ago and they're still on there with o problems. I am not familiar with the 73' onward six lug setups. I have a 65' custom cab short bed powerglide with the correct pp 283 and a side mount spare holder and want to use either the factory steelies which I have, or some nice aftermarket military wheels and stay in six lug so everything bolts. Thanks for your continued input, Ken. BTW, I live an hour from sumitt in Reno, N.V. so that works perfectly.

The only 73-87 oem 6-lugs were 4x4 trucks.
Straight axle front ends.
Totally different.
There were no oem 2wd 6-lug trucks

Yes.
It's actually the same rotor blank used to make 5-lug rotors. The aftermarket industry saw the need for 6-lug disc brakes and manufactured the same rotors with the 6-lug pattern.
I bought my first set from www.earlyclassic.com for a 69 c10 I converted to disc brakes.
Now I see a lot of people using these rotors to use 6-lug wheels on 71-87 trucks.

I used 82 spindles on my 67. Had to change ball joints to 82 as well as the 67 outer tie rods became my inners and I used 82 outer tie rods with an adapter sleeve. I think I got that right. It 's been a while. The rotors were from CPP if I remember correctly. Bearing sizes were all 82.

The only application that won't fit, is the odd ball 1" rotor/spindle trucks built between 81-87. These were usually plain jane 6-cylinder trucks.
Most v-8 trucks had the 1.25" rotors.

The aftermarket 6-lug rotors are 1.25" thick.
So all associated spindles, calipers, and bearings work with these.
