Door question

I thought truck and blazer doors were pretty much the same just cut down.
But, I read this on another thread:

You could make a truck door a blazer door but you would be better off using the re-inforcing pieces from a blazer door and putting them on the truck door. Cut the window piece off and you can make it work. Blazer doors have extra reinforcement in them to make it support the tub weight better.

Anybody know where the re-inforcing pieces are, or what they look like, I've never seen them. Also do they make that much of an improvement in strength.

There are some reinforcing plate that is either welded or bolted to the jamb of the door. See pic- maybe someone else can explain it better?! I do know that if you have these plates you can just remove them from your old blazer door and put them on the new cut down "truck" doors.

At the factory to make Blazer doors they cut down truck ones so you can do the same. Its really easy. And to add the reinforcement just drill out the spot welds, remove it and weld it into place on the new door. You will also need that strike thing from the door, in the picture it is halfway up between the latch and the top of the door.
