Restoring the Blue Chevy Bow Tie
hi all. had a question on the best approach in repairing the blue part of the grille bow tie emblem??

No one has done this before? or is this just as simple as painting the back side of the glass/plastic. It looks like there is some other type of backing for the color, that is why I asked.

Im sure someone on here has the answer. I ended up with an aftermarket one. should have played with my original more and maybe I could answer for ya. . sit patient, someone will chime in

thanks. thought about just getting a replacement.. but $100 seems a bit high.
friend told me to sand off the old color with 400 and repaint it. have two days left to get the truck ready to go to Reno. down to the wire and ordering a new part is not what I want to do. |

I'd sand it with some 600, paint it the color you want.

going to give that a try and see how it goes. nothing to loose. if it doesn't turn out will have to order one. might have been making it harder then it really should have been.
