Do I need a 4' lift?

I really don't want to go with a 4" lift and rather a 2 1/2. this is how its is now with
stock springs and 2" blocks on all. Tires are 35s but measure 33. I would like your opinions.

I would not run blocks in the front not safe. You really need to get the correct lift springs for the front.

I have 2 1/2 lift springs all around with my 33's and they measure 33 inches.

If you aren't doing anything but poking around the mall and maybe cruising the beach, 2 1/2" will work with 35's and an 8" rim. But if you expect to use it anywhere you might twist it up, you need 4" for 35's. And really a 10" rim to maximize clearance to the springs and the tub.

But those front blocks need to go as the others mentioned. We are getting ready to start a Jimmy for my teenager, and I was able to get 4" springs all around with free shipping so we are building around those and will most likely run 35's to fill the wheel well.

It was going to cost almost twice as much to go with 2 1/2" springs, so 4" it is.

I completely redid the 4" lift on my blazer recently. When I bought it it had 4" lift springs up front and blocks in the rear. The rear axle was also swapped for a 14 bolt so my experience may be a little different but here's some of my learning experiences.

1. What I assume was the stock rear driveshaft was too short after the lift as there was evidence that the yoke slipped off the splines and beat up the bottom of the floor.

2. The rear tire appeared to be too close to the front of the wheel opening. Obviously made the driveshaft issue worse when moved back to center it in the wheel well.

3. Not sure who the manufacturer was that made the front leafs that were on it but they were obsurdly stiff. I could jump up and down on the front of the rig and they would not compress whatsoever.

I ended up swapping all the springs out for skyjacker soft ride springs. They definitely aren't the cheapest nor are they the best but I think they are a good compromise. Way better than what was on it.

I've got 37" military tires and HMMWV wheels on it right now with some bolt on wheel spacers. Everything clears so far for in town driving but would likely rub if twisted up on a trail.

Thanks guys, I'm finding that the 2 1/2" kits cost more than the 4" doesn't make sense to me but more cost effective. I'm ready to purchase a lift but want it to look right. Anyone running a 4" lift with 35s that you could show me?

What prices are the leaf springs going for? My Blazer is lifted quite a bit, (probably 4 inch) and I would really like to go back to stock ride height. Of course, I will need to go to smaller wheels as well.
What are the prices and companies for leaf springs?

I just put a 4" soft ride in mine. It has 33's on it. I did springs on all 4 corned. At 1st I thought it was 2 high but after driving it I am glad I did 4"

Mine is a SKYJACKER. Bought the full kit with new springs front and rear w/ shocks and grabbed a pitman arm from them also.

You could always post a wanted ad for a factory suspension someone took off their truck if you are looking to save some cash. I sold mine for 100$ on CL after i bought my 4" U-bolts and all. Fit 33x12.50s on an 8" wheel without rubbing issues

Looking at lift after lift again and again, I plan going with a 2 1/2" lift. I'm going to buy springs first and then misc parts when I can. It seems hard to find a affordable 2 1/2" kit.

4 inches and 35x12.50/16.5 BFGs on 10 inch rims with axles from 3/4 ton truck (wider track, I think), "minor" fender and quarter panel trimming

Personally I like the shackle flip in the rear it allows you to keep falter springs/nicer ride. and it gives you 4 inch of lift.

4" 3/4 ton Skyjacker springs all around, no blocks. 33's on 15x8's. Never rubbed anything. Would trade the front springs for 3/4 ton 2" ones if anybody is interested.

Well this is going to be harder than I thought. I want the tire to fit in wheel well like it sits now. I have measured the tires with the weight of the truck and and side to side and still 33'' tire size 35X12.50R 15. Stracting my head.

Thanks guys. I struggled with this lift thing and for me cost was is factor. I wanted to keep the tire size so I went with a 4" lift and it will work perfect.
