Traction Bars - 71' C20 - Need to Find
Used the search function cannot find an answer. Need traction bars for my 1971 C20 with Dana-60 rear end. The wheel hop is terrible.

Re: Traction Bars - 71' C20 - Need to Find
I'M guessing you have a leaf spring setup? Wheel hop is caused by spring wrap on leaf spring vehicles. Replacing the springs & bushings if worn may reduce / eliminate your hop. (possibly going with a heavier spring pack) If not:
You can use generic, universal "slapper" bars, cheapest & easiest. Or CE "Slide-a-Link" probably have to modify to fit. Some co's make ladder bars for leaf spring set-ups also, you need a housing floater for leaf spring. As popular as these trucks are now I'd guess someone has a direct fit kit available. |

Yes, it's a leaf spring set up. I ordered a pair of universal fit from Lakewood and there is no way they would work. I may have to do some looking around at car shows to see what other people may have found for these 3/4 trucks.

Not hard to build your own 'slapper bars'.
Like in here. http://www.camaros.net/forums/16-bra...tion-bars.html Or try some leaf spring clamps like these. Easy to make. https://www.summitracing.com/int/par...1293/overview/ What kind of Lakewoods did you buy? |

Re: Traction Bars - 71' C20 - Need to Find
Trucks are harder than cars to do slapper bars on with the spring under setup. But CalTrack makes a set of bars. The won't be cheap though...
I have a set on my 69 short step but it has a flip kit on the rear so a little different setup.
