Need a measurement....

I need a measurement from the top of the tail light down to the top of the tailgate band. I'm trying to get the correct placement to install one on my suburban. Thanks in advance!

Re: Need a measurement....

My band is off the tailgate right now but I can see a dirt line from where it was. It was lower than it is in your pic of the blue truck by about 3/4". It is over 2" below the screw hole in the taillight bezel. And bezel screw hole to upper band screw hole is between 2-1/4" and 2-1/2".

Rob, I don't have a tailgate band, But I could get you the measurement from the top of the taillight down to the point where the indention stops.

Looks like 1.5". In the picture below, the tape not is not as high as the camera makes it look. It is actually lined up with the bottom of the opening for the parking light. Of course this may vary a bit from truck to truck depending on the trunion placement. My tailgate is about 1/16" below the top of the bedside. Original tailgate and band.
