Calling all front end 10 bolt owners for advice

Hello all,

I am trying to finish what should have been an easy front end rebuild and it is turning out to be a nightmare.

I bought all OEM US product (moog, raybestos etc) and everything has been a struggle. (tolerances, wrong part in the right box stuff)

Anyway, everything is together but the driver side brake pad will not fit between the rotor and the backing plate. even without the caliper it will not slide past. it is missing by .020. The passenger slide right in.

My pad measures .690 thick and at napa all of their pads were .~700 so i am guessing the pad is right.

I changed the brakes years ago and did not have any issues.

The backing plates look identical (no left or right) the caliper sits level for the bleeder to be at the top.

I am desperate for a life line. I do not feel like pulling it all apart again. I can only guess that the backing plates are side specific or my hub is machined a little deep allowing it to sit deeper on the spindle. I used timken bearings but something like the bearing being to shallow would allow the hub to install deeper???

All insight is welcomed.

disregard,

tore the axle down again, it appears to be the backing plate.
