1970 k2500 rebuild
I bought this truck when I was 16, the first truck I ever bought. it had a few problems when I bought it due to the molestation that it had endured from previous owners. I have been wanting to rebuild it ever since I parked it about 5 years ago. I left the state for a few years and left it on my parents ranch and when I returned home I discovered that my brother had bought an el camino with the same engine and decided that he would use my truck for parts. needless to say I was left with one hell of a mess.
so as of now I have replaced the wiring harness gone through the engine, but I can't get it to fire. when I replaced the harness I did try to bypass the external voltage regulator, due to the fact that I didn't know what it was. I have since purchased a new regulator and am now stuck trying to figure out where the 4 wires go to. this is my first rebuild and I am just sort of learning as I go any help from anyone would be very helpful and appreciated |

Worth investing in a large, laminated wiring diagram - I swear by these things. Easier to read than a service manual wiring diagram, correct, and color coded. https://www.classiccarwiring.com/197...agram-18-x-24/
This thread has some good info: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=738404 Hi Res versions loaded by a member http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=185856 EDIT: Here's the best one I could find - just right click and save (excerpt is pic 2 below): http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...&postcount=302 Below is the regulator wiring, don't bypass it And welcome: Last edited by jocko; 10-21-2017 at 02:52 PM. |
