There is one for sale on the boards now with a photo (NOT MINE) They were used in Blazers as the top of their dash had no speaker cut outs/slots.

Yea, I saw that. It's what started my thread. I don't have lot of experience with blazers, and I've never seen one, or know where they go. I've only found junkyard blazers

I put one on my 71 and I centered it under the dash just because it looked better there to me. However, I believe that the correct mounting should have been off centered towards the driver's side.

Blue is a 72 k5 ...red is a 69 k5. I owned both

It seems that earlier k5s made use of brackets with affixed threaded nuts and these were off set from midline toward the driver. At some point GM did away with the nuts leaving the brackets with bare holes and this style was mounted directly below and using the bolts that secure the heater or AC controls to the dash.
