gas tank hole sealing
I just bought a parts truck and thought I scored a good gas tank. It was super clean on the inside then I turned it over and someone had used fiber glass to patch a hole about 6 inches long by 1/2 inch wide not sure what happened but they have done some grinding on it. Anyway is there a way I can patch this so it wont leak gas. It is a very good tank other than the hole and I would like to save 170 dollars. Any ideas?

Re: gas tank hole sealing
not saying it can't be patched right, but I wouldn't risk my safety just to save $170 for a new tank..especially if your just keeping it for a spare....trust me...I had 5gal of gas blow up in my face...not worth the risk..especially with a in cab tank...

Re: gas tank hole sealing
I have used this in the past. Worked great, will completely seal the tank and lock up any other rust. Read the instructions, etch clean the tank and dry and mix in the sealer. will take the better part of an afternoon. https://www.kbs-coatings.com/tank-sealers.html
