Re: What is your dream truck?

These trucks are "the stuff dreams are made of."

I love any chance to quote old movies!

But a lot of us make what we have into what we dream about....threads every day about it.

(And yes I have had this same fantasy).

1). 1971 or 1972 1 ton, 9 foot long bed.
2). 292 6 cylinder engine
3). 3.73 rear end
4). 4 speed in floor *3 speed on column would be fine though
5). stepside
6). grill guard
7). ochre color
8). 7 gauge cluster including tach, vacuum pressure
9). bench seat
10). wood bed
11). air conditioning
12). power assisted steering
13). power assisted brakes
14). offset air cleaner
15). manual throttle
16). manual choke
17). spare tire on side
18). rear step bumper
19). NAECO (is that the company?) 4wd instal
20). tinted windows
21). painted bumpers
22). tilt steering *forgot about that one!

So basically a 1 ton, lwb 4 speed version of what I have with AC.

X2. Yes a screamin' six-292, but it'd have to be 4 on the floor. I'm not keen on the column shift manual. 3 on the floor would be nice though, does anyone know if that was ever an option? I know some camaros and el caminos had them.

Re: What is your dream truck?

Ya know, a 3 speed on the column is pretty neat and fun to drive and you free up that leg room space for the middle passenger, it's easier to slide over to the passenger side, and also, it makes dates easier.

*Amazingly someone on this site took issue with that last reason, thinking it was perverse. Hey, some of us still "date" our wives! (I plan to, once I marry her).

3OTT does take out the tilt steering though but to be honest if we lost our bellies we wouldn't need it anyway. It is a bit harder to drive though but practice.

Re: What is your dream truck?

If I had a dream truck and a dream car I would be about a bazillion dollars ahead. Instead Ive always let the next Ooooo lookit that! I want that one instead! Leads to piles of parts and projects in the barn and garage, and stuff you kinda wish you had back.

Re: What is your dream truck?

Same here but for other things. I really have a hard time letting go of anything so I have run out of space. I am badly in need of another bookcase for example and yes for books!

If I had more space and well just money, then I could be out of space with vehicles, airplanes, machine guns, women.....you get the idea.

Agreed! Excellent Models, I'm guessing most were made in the 80's and 90's though.

Re: What is your dream truck?

'72 C-30 Rear Dual Wheel, Short Chassis, Basic Model, Red, Black Interior, 292, 4-Speed, only Options would be Gauges, Tach, AM-FM, Tinted Glass, Manual Choke, Highest Rear Gear, HD Radiator, West Coast Mirrors, and Tow Hooks.

Not too far off from what I already have.

I like the one on the right best, but probably wouldn't kick any of them out of the bed.
