Been looking at Laptops ???

I just been shopping Laptops and was looking at a HP 5120 ,
2.8 Intel Cel , 15.4 screen .
And came across a HP with a 15" screen and a Intel Centrino Mobile Technology,1.4 or 1.8 .HP 3140 CENTRINO
And was wondering what is the difference ? the 1.4 mobile chip notebook was a couple of hundred dollars higher.

The mobile chip uses less electricity so it extends the battery life.

It uses ALOT less electricy in certain things. The celeron is sh!t.. i wouldnt give it much of a look. It cuts out the part that matters a lot to make it cheaper. If your looking to have a laptop that will last 5-6 hours on one battery charge the centrino is the way to go, however, if you just need one and battery is huge get the p4 mobile. The centrino is also optimized to work with wireless... and to say the least, i have used them alot and dont really like them. So p4 mobile or athlon is my recommendation.

Thanks ; So the only benifit is a longer use while on battery power. ?
I think I would rather have the faster processor and larger screen .

I have a Dell with the Centrino in it and I love it. It is very fast and does have a pretty long battery life. Also another benifit is that it runs a lot cooler. The others have a tendency to get a little hot.

Just wanted to follow up and let you know what I finally got. I settled for a Refurbished Sony PCG FRV 35 , it has a P 4 2.6 ,512meg, 15" screen,DVD RW/CD RW ,40 Gig HD .
When I was shopping I had looked at the HP 5120 , Toshiba and the Sony.
The new Sony's were pricy as was the better Toshiba 's
The reason I settled on the Refurb Sony it was in my price range 1000 , and when I was testing the laptops at different stores ,the Sony's always loaded and displayed MS word the fastest .and the screen quality was great .of the 3 models I was looking at the Toshiba was the slowest to load the software and the screen qualiy was not as good as the Sony and HP. IMOP :
