chassis rebuild parts list?
Hey all,
Like a lot of you I’m planning a frame up rebuild on my 71 c-10. Now since I have never done this sort of thing before I’m hoping someone can help me out with a list of bushings, bearings and other assorted parts I will need to rebuild my chassis. So what will I need? Any help you can provide would be a great asset to me and hopefully others. Thanks, OnDrew p.s. I did try to search this topic but didn’t come up with anything. |

I would use polyurethane bushings (including front swaybar) for everything except cab mounts the rubber Stock type give a better ride in the cab (more give) from what I understand. I used Energy Suspension polyurethane swaybar bushings and OEM rubber type for the cab, later Doug

Get one of the LMC catalogs just for the pictures. They have break-downs of the entire chassis and they are free. This will also give you an idea of what you need to spend. You might want to get your parts from one of the other venders though as I have not heard too many positive comments on LMC. A lot of the items will be available as kits which makes it a bit easier.
I aggree, use the polyurethane bushings and while you are at it you might as well run new brake lines(stainless so you don't have to mess with them ever again), ball joints, tie rods, new wheel cylinders and callipers, new wheel bearings up front, and if the rear diff cover is leaking replace the gasket now while it is easy to get to. Good luck!
