Truck Trader - Do you still have your Truck Ad?

I am cleaning my office up and ran across this 2000 Truck Trader. I am not sure if this is still published. This is where I found the Circuit Rider back in August 2000 in Celina Tn. I was actually looking for an early to mid 50's Chevy 1/2 ton when I ran across this ad. I knew this was a special truck. I was the first to respond to the ad - I went up the Tuesday afternoon that this publication came out. I made an offer of about $2300 and the rest is history.

Do you still have the ad that you located your truck in?

I would goto the main office every Tuesday to get the trader first, there would be 20 dealers ahead of me.

That’s so funny because I was looking for my 1985 auto trader that I found my corvette in just last night. No luck

Smile Re: Truck Trader - Do you still have your Truck Ad?

I think I do for my first 72' Blue/White (Texas) Highlander...but I will have to find it.
That would have been from 1990 I think.
All that said....the truck was stolen in '97 and I never saw it again, unfortunately and that was one nice, original truck.
I didn't think I would find another as original and unmolested until I came across the one I have now....California truck.

Regardless, its interesting how guys will sometimes keep this kind of ad....its as if we know somehow that this was a special find or buy.

Re: Truck Trader - Do you still have your Truck Ad?

I have a printed copy of my original Craigslist ad from 2014 when I found my present truck. The pink "For Sale" sign was sitting on the dash of my first truck in 2001 when I found it a a local Car Show.

Re: Truck Trader - Do you still have your Truck Ad?

Here is the original ad for my 72 K20, which was in a trader called the Metro Piston that covered the Lexington KY area. I paid $3800 for it in 1991 and used it as a daily driver for many years. Currently it is in the body shop awaiting its final paint.

Holy cow... the Metro Piston. We lived in Lexington for 18 months when I was a kid and I remember that paper. 6th grade... maybe '88-89. My dad was also a gearhead. Bought a couple out of that trader.
