Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
thanks Dale!
jumped back on the '60 crew again, but my parts are still not here.... so now i also got the snowplow truck going as well, and still waiting for parts for it too that wrecker the wife got me-just toying around, got a '60's and a '80's wrecker but no '70's... or '50's....hmmmm no drip rails on the revell truck and the rear winda trim was so lite it came off after i glued the back of the cab on and sanded it... some .025 rod flattened out whacked a bunch of stuff off the frame and made a under hood brace |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
typical revell cheapness, no cab floor, just like the green '77 dually....heyyy.... it's all coming back now.....
start of a floor tailgate looks weird on the inside. mudded up the pieces i put in, when dry i'll sand it. if it looks ok i will leave it. if it looks like crap i will put a aluminum checkerplate guard over it can't belive i don't have a round-eye short fleet in the stable..... was orig. going to do this crewy red, but did the gmc dually red instead. always had a soft spot for flames (my '68 gm, our quads, my riding helmet, my welding helmet, my hard hat, my parts washer, my quad trailer, my tool box, my dirt bike, my boat trailer, and of course my flamed shorts...) only color i can think that would go nice with these flames is jet-black...with a blown six'er |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
running out of stuff to do. the parts wife ordered for me (shipped dec 3) have still not arrived. have never ever had a order take more than a couple weeks, 3 at most. last tracking update was dec 9, saying in transit...hmmmm....not looking that great...especially as how i got the int parts for the '60 crew last mon, and they were mailed on dec 29, from the same place...new york
they look much better than the '65 revell parts i was trying to shove in there tunnel and floor needed some pieces so they don't look goofy.... back to the "awesome" revell truck, added some ribs to the baby smooth bottom of the box.....revell....50 million sinkholes all over it... was not crazy 'bout my baby smooth cab floor either....a old piece of el camino floor scabbed in..... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
added fuel caps and did'nt like the tailgate so it gets a checkerplate guard
yeah...revell has got to have the lousiest squares around... started some door work having a hard time getting the box to un-warp, going to try one more thing, if it don't look great, i'll glue a canopy on it to hold it square |

Man, it sure takes a long time to get your deliveries. But what you have done is looking great. I like the canopy too.

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
thanks Dale, but i'm really starting to get frustrated with my caster. Has been 53 days now, and all tracking stopped on dec 8. i think it's pretty obvious it has been "misplaced" or lost, but my caster does not seem to give a s**t. I have sent him a few emails asking him to start a lost package procedure with USPS, as there is nothing i can do, i did not send it. So far he has not replied to any of my emails nor started a lost claim....hmmmm.....helluva way to treat one of your oldest and best customers, i have prob bought more from him than any other individual.
last email i sent was last friday, wife says if he won't answer by this friday (tomorrow) , go to paypal and get my money back....been trying to avoid that, he does have alot of what i use..... bummer keepin on running out of things to do, already got 2 trucks on the go, dont really want to start a third... some int work whipped up a visor and aluminumized my tailgate protector |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
engine is mostly done. nuthin' fancy, just your standard small block chevy
don't know if anyone has heard, but Hobbico, the company that owns Revell, filed for chapter 11, bankruptcy. everyone is waiting to see how this will play out with Revell, apparentley Hobbico has to Mar to figure out whatever they are going to do. hope it does not mean the end of Revell. But just in case, i scored another sub off fleabay for the incredible price (for up here anyways..) of 26 clams. this one will have the seats and winda's in it though. just hope my frikkin caster gets his stuff together....stock builds are boring.... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
That sucks about your parts and the caster. The interior looks great and so does the engine. The visors nice too. This Burb will be cool

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
well i'm glad i waited one more day.....got a courier delivery today. would have looked dumb getting my money back and parts showing up the next day. only got part of the order, but enough to get going again. some kind of communication or reply would have been nice...
weather was pretty lousy today, spent a few hrs on the front. should be able to get the rear tomorrow |

fr and rear mostly done a little bit of paint... just finished spraying it. not real happy with revell. after i got the paint laid, a body seam ghosted threw on the box...don't think i got enough blue left to start dicking with it....really stretched it just to get 3 coats on... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
ya, no lites Dale
demian5, yup...four by or no buy.... stupid hrs at work, we are now booked solid till next yr and prob longer.....plus i was working on my 1:1 crew, put it back on the road the other day, getting it ready for some paint...finally after 12 or 13 yrs... have been doing some on the '60 crewcab, and un-doing more of the crewcab...strait 6 in this one. the air cleaner is made from a '90 chev and a snork from a 60-something chevelle, also put a 2 bbl on it had the int done, completed. went to do some final checking and it somehow grew a mil or 2 and would not fit. shaved it and still would'nt fit... so i pulled it apart to take out a frikkin mil or so.... while waiting for the door panels to come out of the stripper, cut out the plastic for some real wood |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
think the frame came out not too bad considering 2 different brand models that did not want to fit together....
other change, going to a short fleet instead, got a better plan for the step box |
