Bob,
i have one from a 72 GMC, leaf spring 2wd, 4.10 gears with a Detroit no-spin. I offered it for $100.oo and haven't sold it yet. i even have the factory paperwork that came with it. I've was thinking about swapping it over to 4x4 specs and putting it under one of my trucks but the axle shaft diameter just doesn't impress me, especially when compared to a later 14 bolt or an Eaton 3/4 ton.

Eaton 3/4

Thank you Jerry for the reply. If you were close I would buy that. One I am going to look at is priced quite a bit higher.

Eaton parts are getting hard to find and expensive and all those still seem little noisy.

14 bolt seems like good option but again the ones I've seen are around $300 with 4.11 and locker.

Bob,
time for a california vacation , 1/2 price weekends at pick-n-pull any complete rear end can be had for under a hundred bucks.
14 bolts are very common too.
