Have you tried finding a clapped out 305 for the parts you need? Everything you need except the balancer is the same as a 305.
I may have some of the parts if you can't find a 305 donor. What crank pulley did you need 2 belt or 3? |

I've probably got all the stuff you need. I've got lots of pulleys, brackets and balancers. Even some stock valve covers if you want stockers.
First a couple of questions. Do you know what size balancer your timing cover is made for? There are a few different ones so your timing marks will line up right. I know I've got the 3 groove crank and 2 groove waterpump pulleys. I'll have to check about the 2 groove crank and single groove waterpump pulleys. I'm fairly sure I've got the alternator brackets like the ones in the pic also. Let me know and I'll check into what I've got. If I have what you need I'll sell it cheap.

That picture you posted is of a 73-up style bracket for long water pump set up.
You need to decide if you're going short pump (original) or long pump, and buy everything to match. Seems like 80% of the trouble folks have with V8 swaps is mismatched front accessory parts.

Well the 350 isn't orgional to the 68 anyway, so out the door w/ that idea.
I need an 8" balancer. I'm wanting a Long Water Pump (w/ 1 or 2 groove pulley), 3 groove crank and some cheap valve covers. unless you've got a set of edlebrock elite tall style allumnum covers. get me some pics and price. sswj

Sorry about being so slow with the pictures.
I forgot about it until earlier today. Anyway here's what I could dig up. They're not pretty but with a little cleaning up they should work for you. In the pic there's 2 balancers. One late model with the timing tab closer to the water pump and one older style. I think the older style uses the bolt on timing tab. Both are 8 in. Don't have any stock valve cover that are decent but I do have these. How's $15 plus shipping for the stuff in the first pic, (your choice of balancers or both if you want them). I'd take $40 for the M/T's

80-85 balancer would probably be the later model one. It's the lower one in the pic.
M/T = Mickey Thompson You must be young!!? LOL!

Nothin' wrong with 21!
I couldn't really tell you what's special about MT for sure other than he was a big name in racing back in the 60's. Hell, That was before my time even!! Hahaha!

Got your PM.
I'm only home on weekends now so I'll try to get the parts boxed up and have my wife get a shipping cost Tuesday. Also which parts do you want? (Just the pullies and brackets, etc. or the valve covers too?) I'll have to look for a timing tab. I'll look to see what I've got and let you know. The later model timing tab is welded onto the timing cover I think. Do you want the whole timing cover, (if I have one)? No extra charge if you want it and I've got it.
