1970 C30 -the parts truck.

This is my '70 C30 that I had listed for sale in the classifieds as a parts truck. Started to like the old girl and decided to keep her. She definitely has patina but the original paint is shining up pretty good.

Good decision .
That is too nice to be a parts truck.
Does it have disc brakes on the front?

Re: 1970 C30 -the parts truck.

I feel a lot better about the decision to keep it after seeing it after a little cleaning.
Does not have discs in the front. Wish it did.

Re: 1970 C30 -the parts truck.

I bought the spindles, rotors , and calipers off of an 83 one ton.
I hope to get them on the front of my C-30 at some point in my project.

Thumbs up Re: 1970 C30 -the parts truck.

I noticed the horns on the roof disappeared. Does the truck have a belt driven compressor under the hood? Glad you have put the effort into fixing it up. Its looking sharp. Well done.

Re: 1970 C30 -the parts truck.

Like many others here, I have a problem letting them go. I planned on selling the '73 dually that I bought just for the engine but ended up keeping it too.
The '70 is a pretty cool truck and I am happy with the decision to keep it!

I didnt care much for the look of the horns so I took them off -they were in bad condition anyway. They operated with vacuum.

Thinking the truck may have belonged to a fire department at one time in its life? The horns, turn signals on the hood, fire extinguisher inside, and lettering that was on the door at one time...

Good call on the horn. Who wants a vacuum leak on demand? I had lots of horns i thought sucked but never one that actually did.
