Road trip pics
OK, since my digi-cam is still p!ssin me off, (sooooo tempted to smack it with my BFH) Jeff got his pics developed and scanned already. So I am going to post them. I have a few that are getting developed, and I need to burn a roll for some other reasons. So I will have more up, soon.
 Edited for little ones eyes, Jeff was havin too much fun with the paint on my tailgate, so he got the finger.   One of tha many trucks we saw, we found this one as going through an alley in Carlie. Turns out, the grizly looking guy is the original owner of this gold '69 Chevy one ton daulie. Real nice guy. He kept tellin us bout there local car show coming up. we were thinking "yeah...we have shows too." Then we realized what town we were in and realized his little car show was a national event.  From left to right, Jeff, (not longhorn Jeff...but Randy's friend), Randy, (OLDCHEV) and myself to the right. Both Jeff and Randy are very knowledgable guys, and are very good with these trucks. Know them inside and out. Jeff's white 4X4 is a sweet rig. I gave him my stock radio delete plate out of the longhorn...I wasn't gonna use it.  The top pic is the Longhorn being towed by Longhorn Jeff's '87 K/5, both parked at a road side rest in Wester PA on the turnpike. The lower pic is yours truley probably laughing from sleep deprivation...I don't even remember him taking the picture. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. LOL!!! We used a tow bar...I couldn't imagine a rope for 428 miles.

ok, here are the only 3 that came out on my 35mm camera. Real bummer, I know I took mre than 3.
 This is from the back seat of the blazer doing about 50 MPH on the PA turn pike.  Again, on the road at 50ish MPH. You can see the tow bar blted onto the bottom of the bumper, and the trailer lights going under the hood. That was a pretty cool set up I drempt up one night, I just ran a trailer plug up and into the trucks actual rear light harnes.So from behind the truck, the tail lights, turn signals and brake lights light up as if it was under its own power. Cool huh?  And this is a crappy picture of the inside of the horniac. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350. Andy- THATS GREAT !!!!! I'm really glad you finally found a way for it to get home.....As luck would have it, I am finally going to get to go east this weekend..... Sorry I couldn't help out.

It was fun. I can't speak for the others, but I wish I coulda stayed longer. Randy is an honest man, and fun to work with. We all had about as much fun as you can have without the blue light special showing up in your drive way.

Yeah, the tail lights was a pretty d@mn good idea IMO...cheap too. (we all know I like cheap)

When you tow a venicle with a tow bar like that, do you have to lock the steering wheel in place?

No, leave it unlocked. It will wander just a little, some vehicles more than others, but it can only go so far. This would wander about an inch to either side. Backing up is real easy too.

I remeber a friend of mine use to tow a 68 camaro with a tow bar and every time he would take a turn, the front wheels in the camaro would turn the opposite way. I think he did not have any engine in the car, so I wonder if that had anything to do with it.
