Big Block Exhaust shield location ?

Can any provide pictures or measurements for the bolt holes to locate the big block exhaust shield that goes against the underside of the front right floorboard? I am adding the shield and my truck has no marks or dimples in that area at all.

There should be two dimples in the metal where the holes were drilled when they were originally installed. By your user name maybe you have a '68 and I would think the dimples didn't start until '69. I will check my '72 when I go out to see if it has them.

Did a search and found pictures. Don't think mine has any dimples. Need to look some more.

I went out and took pictures with my phone. When I try to transfer them to my computer it says it can't find a compatible program on my computer to transfer them. Go figure. The last time I did it it transferred them with no problem. My phone has updated to a newer OS since then so that must be the problem. I'm smart phone illiterate....

Anyway, I can tell you that the holes are 1 inch and 5 3/4 inches from the seam below them.

No problem. If I figure out how to get the pictures transferred I will go ahead and post them here for future reference.

Re: Big Block Exhaust shield location ?

Bringing back on old thread. I have a 1970 factory BBC truck that does not have the heat shield and I can't find the dimples. Understand they are 1 inch and 5 1/2 inches from the seam. How far are they located from the tunnel?

I don't have that cab anymore so I can't check for you but someone should have one.....

This is the best I can do.

Re: Big Block Exhaust shield location ?

Sir,
Thanks for the picture. That along with the distance from the seam will likely get me close enough.

Thanks
Rob
