Re: What tire sizes everyone running with 20's

Perhaps a silly question - But can I run 20s on a non-lowered '67. Have replaced front and rear coil springs to restore stock heights. 5 lug front disc brakes.

I'm more old school stock height - but really like the bigger wheels... Any interference issues?

With stock height you'll have plenty of room, look at what sizes modern factory trucks run so you can get an idea of some common tire sizes. I'd recommend a 20x9 size wheel for easy fitment. Check out vision wheel they make some nice budget friendly options

Re: What tire sizes everyone running with 20's

I have a 2/4 drop on a 71 swb. I want to get staggered 20x8 and 20x10. What backspacing and tire size should I run. I was thinking 255/45 front and 295/45 rear. I'm worried about the tires looking too small.

295 in the rear my rub on the inner bed depending on what B.S you go with.

CRAWDADFOX, what width and back spacing are you running on that beautiful red truck, also are those the one piece US Mags?

Re: What tire sizes everyone running with 20's

Bringing one back from the dead.

I just picked up a 71 LWB with a 3/5 drop and I've got 5th Gen Z/28 Camaro reps for it that are 20x10.5 up front and 20x12 out back.

I want to run the Toyo Proxies and it looks like a 315 on the 12" wheel in the rear won't be an issue, but is this 10.5 going to fit up front?

I'm thinking I'd like a 275 or 285 up front would be ideal for traction and not getting plowed by the fat rears.

Anyone have some experience with a wide front setup?

Pics of the wheels and the truck below.

Re: What tire sizes everyone running with 20's

Had 17s but son talked me into these used 20s a couple months ago. Not sure I like it but maybe I'm just old. 20x8s with 255/35 and 20x9.5s with 275/35. Didn't notice any other posts with tires this short, so thought I'd share. No clearance issues. Yes, it rides hard, and I watch for potholes, hehe.

Thanks!

I've got 20's on my 67 Rat, but they're nowhere near as wide as the new wheels for the 71.

I think I'm going to run a wider tub just to be safe out back and have some ideas for a sick bed wood system, too, while I'm at it.
