Throttle foot peddle bolts

I did a post about this a while back but can't find the original post or I would use that. I'm looking for the ball end bolts that the throttle foot pedal mounts to on the floor. Someone gave me some info on where to find them and I did buy a couple but, (not blaming anyone here) I didn't realize that there were quite a few different sizes of these. The ones I got had the right size ball on the end, but the threaded part wasn't correct, it was 1/4" and I need 5/16". I was at Summit Racing today and they couldn't help me. They suggested LMC and, I looked online but, couldn't find any. Does anyone know where I can find these? This is holding up finishing my truck. HELP!!!!

Thanks for any help!

Re: Throttle foot peddle bolts

Well, I talked to an old forum friend and he answered some questions I had but, posted some new questions. He verified that 1/4" threads is what the threads should be in the floor but, really didn't have an answer for the fact that mine are 5/16. I did call Classic parts, Brothers trucks and speedway. The studs that these places had were all 1/4". So, if there is room, I'll put nuts and washers behind the floor on the studs I have and, push come to shove, I'll cut the threaded part off of the studs I have and weld 5/16" bolts on to that. There's more than one way to skin a cat!...lol Thanks to everyone for the help, it was much appreciated!

Not sure if it will work, but you can maybe use the early bolt down type pedal. For some reason they used that one on later 4x4 trucks and the hole spacing is the same. You would have to get different pedal but hardware would be generic. Used to have trouble with the pedal coming off the studs on my old 66, but not an issue on my K10.

I have this same problem with my '65. I ordered the ball studs form Classic Parts and they have 1/4"-20 threads and my holes are tapped for 5/16"-18 threads. I know that my truck is stock when it comes to this area, my grand father was the original owner (I've owned it now for 34 years) and it never had these replaced until I took them out many years ago when I switched to a cable throttle set up.

I decided to just keep the cable throttle set up for now until I can find the right studs to use. Next time I order from McMaster Carr I might add two of these to my list to see if they will work. Shipping would be more than these two parts alone so I'll just wait till I have a larger order...

Mine looks stock as well. I was going to try to put nuts on the back side of the floor and, if that wouldn't work, cut off the threaded part and weld 5/16" bolts on there but, after seeing that there is a place that has the ball studs with 5/16" x 18 thread, I'm going to just get those.
Edit: Just got off the phone with McMaster-Carr and ordered two of those bolts. It sure is weird that everyone else I've talked to has 1/4"x20 thread and, mine and aggie91, have 5/16x18 thread studs. A big thank you to aggie91 for posting up the info for those studs, it is MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

This is what I love about this forum. We help each other out. Let me know if those work with your pedal on the ball end. I just might go modify my cable throttle pedal to work with the stock pedal if those really do work!

Yep, worked perfectly. Wish I had thought about taking a picture. It'll be several days before I get back out to where my truck is but, when I do I'll take one and post it here.
