Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Not today but yesterday. I´m going to test-fit some sheet-metal on my -62 C10 Panel before welding and straighten the side of the truck. 1/4" bondo.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

We got the rear window opening cut out to match the inside panel. It looks like a whole new truck. I cut out a section of the front panel to start reparing.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

I installed the new NOS distributor I got from forum member chevy2inreno on the 250 6-banger on Sunday. Checked initial timing on the old one, was set at about 8 degrees BTDC. Spec is 4 BTDC, but I've heard from old GM mechanics that timing should be advanced to just before pinging starts on regular gas with this motor.
So installed the new distributor and set initial timing at the same 8 BTDC. Drove the truck to work today- HOLY CRAP! what a difference. Way more acceleration, should have done this a long time ago, but I though the old distributor was OK.
Think I've got the Rochester B and the spark timing dialed in pretty good now.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Replaced right side mirror bracket with NOS GM mirror I found on Ebay. Holes were there, somebody must have damaged original and replaced with aftermarket bracket. Mirror was the original GM mirror. Looks better. Cleaned out drip rail and put new seam sealer in.

What seam sealer did you use. How many tubs did you use?

3M Body Seam Sealer, I used a little over one tube, but I waste some. Could of made it with one if I knew what I was doing.

Pulled my gauge cluster to be sent to redlineg.com next week. Going to add vacuum gauge, tachometer and convert the amp gauge to a volt gauge and calibrate the rest.
Also Ordered a rebuilt Saginaw 3-speed overdrive transmission.
