70 gmc cab did not have a hole for a radio antennae so I ran one today. Well one thing led to another and I have an open dash (no cluster, glove box or radio) I know I have a leaking bushing around my wiper motor that needs replacing. Motor works fine, but pump doesnt. Is it worth replacing the whole assembly since I am this far in? I do plan to refurb the guage cluster (paint/clean, LEDs). What else do I need to do check/replace while this far in?

If the motor is working I'd just fix or replace the pump. I've had issues with reman wiper motors - some work good, some don't. I just swapped a reman one out last week on a square body, less than a year old.

I have the motor/pump assembly out and motor is/has been working. Bushings and gasket shot so I will get some replacements. The assy is a 3 wire with 2 additional leads for the pump. When I hook 12v up to pump, it energizes, but that is it. Any thoughts how to connect leads to pump and motor to see if it will work? pump appears to work off of a phenolic gear off back side of motor.

My $ .02 - I replaced my factory pump with an external Trico unit. (@ $16)
Ran 12 volts to the pump, (mounted in the engine compartment), ground wire from the pump to a momentary push switch in the dash, (@ $5) and out of the switch to ground. Works great! And I know I'll never have to mess with getting to the balky pump again to fix it! Them things are buried up in there!

Working on wiring up intermittent wipers, too. I have some pics in an album on here. Hopefully I can hook it up tomorrow and see how (if!) it works.

As far as the pump not working you might try priming it. I use a turkey baster filled with water and put a little pressure on the bulb while someone pushes the pump button on the wiper switch and the pump is pumping. Don't put too much pressure on it or you will rupture the pump diaphram. Before you do that you might want to disconnect all of the hoses and blow through them with an air nozzle (blow backwards through the squirter nozzles).
