Soft Brakes
I replaced the master cylinder and now my brakes are barely there. It’s a remanufactured master cylinder so it could be that it’s not working properly. It’s only pushing fluid to the front when I bleed the brake calipers. I think I may need to replace the lines from the master cylinder to the valve that feeds the brake lines, but the rear one is stuck and I don’t know if I can remove it without breaking it. What are those lines and valve called so I can look for replacements?

Re: Soft Brakes
Proportioning valve.
Lots of threads on here dealing with brakes, replacing and system bleeding.

Re: Soft Brakes
That's your proportioning valve. Did you bench bleed the master?
If I'm replacing lines & one is stuck I cut the line at the stuck nut & use a 6 point socket. |

Re: Soft Brakes
What you have circled is the proportioning valve. There is a button under the black cap on one end of your prop valve. Use a clamp to depress & hold. Slowly push brake pedal to the floor or as close as you can get the pedal to the floor pushing firmly onthe pedal, and release. Remove clamp from prop. valve. It should be centered again. That should give you fluid to the rear brakes.
