Wiper Transmission Arm Install

So I searched the pics on this site and the FAQ section. Can't seem to find the info on how the two transmission arms attach to the wiper motor. Does anyone have pics that show that anywhere? Thank you.

Re: Wiper Transmission Arm Install

Is this on our trucks? I found this on line but the page was just a pic, if so I'm missing the short arm.

Re: Wiper Transmission Arm Install

This is what I bought on ebay in the first pic (arrow pointing to what was missing), in the second pic is what was sent. So I'm attempting to get the little short crooked arm from the seller now.

If it doesn't work out LMK because I lost mine and someone sent me one, I then found it.

Re: Wiper Transmission Arm Install

well i can tell you one thing...you want to make for damn sure that you've got them installed properly. I was missing a piece when i put mine together, and I wasn't smart enough to google it. I thought I had it all figured out, and it was working as it was supposed to. I was looking at the drivers side wiper only. So I put the wiper arms on and hit the switch, the drivers side went up the windshield, and the passenger side wiped down the cowl, taking all of the paint with it. So I called up the place that sold me the hardware, and he laughed, and said "yeah, just after you walked out, i realized that I forgot to sell you a piece, but i didn't have your phone number" So do yourself a favor, and make sure BOTH sides work properly...doh!

Re: Wiper Transmission Arm Install

I just went through all of this after having the transmission arms powder coated and forgetting to take a pic before I removed and disassembled everything. After wiring the wiper motor (which is a whole other series of threads in of itself), I cut a couple of strips of a sticky note and stuck them on the wiper arm knob just to verify operation and park location. Fortunately in my case, I just had the arm off of the wiper motor stud 180 off.

Re: Wiper Transmission Arm Install

I can see how that could get nasty if you had the wiper arms installed on the first test run. Especially on a new paint job.
