No tricks really. Center the back on the back of the seat, drill pilot holes and use #6 stainless pan head Phillips screws with stainless finish washers.

Re: install plastic bucket seat backs

I found the holes like you said with an awl and sharpie first.
Used a measuring tape on the second seat to help find holes.
Also I used 2" stainless steel #8 screws. It made it easier to find the holes, & pull the back panel, in evenly.
Eye balled it up so I could see the first two screws line up. It takes patience, time, hookers, drugs, alcohol helps also.

Good luck, they look awesome when done.

These are the correct seat back screws:

I located these made by OEM supplier Auveco.

#8 X 1-1/2" Phillips Oval #6 Head Screws Chrome

Auveco part number 1424.

On their main site it shows out of stock, but several located on Ebay:

Re: install plastic bucket seat backs

#6 screw would definitely be too small for my holes, maybe my holes have been abused over the years. lol

Yes, but the grain is not exact to original. If buying them, I would replace in pairs so they match.
