My third favorite truck and a pic of me!
This is the truck I drove as a kid (bought it for $75 cash) and that helped kindle my affection for the 67-72. Dad had a 68 which helped as well.
This was a 307 with a floor shift four speed that had the super low first that you didn't use daily (I always dog-legged it out of second). It burned so much oil that I had my friends save all their used oil so I could burn that. I ran plug extenders on a couple of holes but usually every day or two I had to clean the oil off the plugs to keep it running. Compression went down and down until it couldn't make 45 mph and so I couldn't take it on the freeway. I wound up giving it to a friend and as far as I know still sits on a farm outside Regina, SK. But it wasn't worth saving then so it'd be a rough case today!
