Defrost Vents (repo)

I need to buy some defrost vents, are the reproduction ones all the same or is one brand better? Thanks

I don't know how many different companies make them (I'm betting only one) but the ones I have bought all fit well. The '72 Dually had new chrome ones in it when I got it and they fit good also.

Any re-pops I've seen suck and don't fit right.

Then you connect the hose and they have a mind of their own.

Anyone else?

Re: Defrost Vents (repo)

Got mine from Classic Parts. Not bad, but didn't seem as well made as the originals. Actually had to drill a couple small holes in the pass. side vent and bolt it down to keep it in place once the ducting was connected.

Re: Defrost Vents (repo)

I bought some Key parts brand off of eBay. I had to push them down with one hand and push up from underneath the dash to get them snapped in. They are a tight fit and I couldn't get them to pull out after I installed them. Hopefully they'll be good once everything is painted.

Re: Defrost Vents (repo)

Has anyone found repops in any color other than black or chrome?

Re: Defrost Vents (repo)

I bought chrome ones from LMC. Snapped right in place, no problems.

Re: Defrost Vents (repo)

My experience with the repops is that they suck. Post a WTB is the parts forum or go on that famous auction site - good used and NOS can still be found.
