68 Parking Brake Conversion

I have a 68. I have done away with the hand parking brake and bought a Lokar universal foot brake to install in its place(cause they have beautiful pedals!).
I’m interested to see if anyone has installed one and how you mounted it to the firewall. I am also putting in speaker type kick panels.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I have a 72 K20 but has a 68 cab. Have you done the install?

Re: 68 Parking Brake Conversion

I installed kick panels in my Blazer and had to (slightly) bend the factory petal to clear the speaker. It works fine and was easy to bend by hand.

The stock hand brake may be better with speakers, but you might be able to place the Lokar a little farther out to clear them. Suggest to install the speakers first!

Re: 68 Parking Brake Conversion

The problem with the Lokar is the fuse block appears to be too close to the side panel. I've decided to install the hand brake. Almost like a theft deterrent, ha ha.
Most won't know how to operate it.

Re: 68 Parking Brake Conversion

I know non of you were offering up, I'd be interested in good stock 68 parking brake parts, specifically cables for my 68 K20 if anyone is willing to part. If allowed.
