Lightbulb '78 Cutlass suspenion?

I am not sure if this has been covered here before. I am new here. I have been brain storming recently.
Has anyone put in front suspension from a '78ish G body in a 67-72 truck? If so any pics? Was thinking of doing it along with a Z drop at the same time. Might be able to redo the crossmember area on the bottom so the engine stays at the same height. I have 2 reasons for this goal; 1 much better geometry & ride quality 2 lower stance. 2.5 was given this car from mother-in-law(was her husbands before he died & we all want the dying car to somehow stay alive) In that order of importance.
I realize the frames may be different widths. Not too much of a problem , have seen what some ppl do for drag car chassis.

The first thing to look at is the Hub to Hub measurement. If there is too much difference it is more work than it is worth.

Take the wheels off and support the car under the lower control arms. Use a straight edge to extend the hub surface(where the lug studs are) so you can measure the hub to hub distance. Do this on the truck too. compare the measurements.

GM trucks from 63-87 have a approx track width of 64.5" (+ or - depending on drums or discs).

The late 70's A/G body GM platform are 57.5" w/stock spindles & 10.5" brakes; or 58.75" w/B-body (caprice) spindles & 12" brakes. For comparison, the 70's-era Camaro/Nova clip has a 61.5" track width, which is why they're more commonly used.
