And God said "let that paint lay smooth"

WOOO HOOO!!!! I FINALLY solved the streaky paint problem. I found that when I turned up the pressure on the compressor , laid down a thin coat, and made my movements a bit faster, the paint seemed to work out!! Here are a couple pics for your enjoyment I still have to re shoot the hood, it got some crap stuck to it in the drying process. the last 2 pics were taken using the back light on the camera so the colors don't look quite right
Let me know what ya think

Can't wait to see it done up with the trim and stuff...lookin better Tim.
That's the cool thing about paint...esp if you are going for a semi-gloss look. You can always scuff it, and give it another coat to fix your mistakes on the previouse layer.

Looking good. BOut time too.

Hey Dubie you will never guess what happened yesterday. Remember that bridge they were working on that you passed to go to work when you were in town, well it collapsed, LMFAO. But amazingly enough no one was hurt. The workers ( that were on and under the bridge) were on coffe break and there was no traffic under it. Road will be closed for a few days, LOL.

Oh yeah I finally got the rear of the truck lowerd

Next step is tape off some flames and shoot them, then install the chrome
I am going to shoot 1 more coat over the entire truck today and then the black will be done

71 Rat: this is suede black paint, not a primer. I was going to use primer but it's to porous.

Blue Beard: you see the pics in black and white?? they are full color...hmmmmmmmmm

Thanks for all the great comments guys

Looks great Tim, the chrome will really make it stand out. I'd like to see some polished Torque Thrusts on it too.

71 Rat: this is suede black paint, not a primer. I was going to use primer but it's to porous

dubie: what co. makes that? i was looking for something like that when i did my truck but ended up doing DP-90 because it was an epoxy primer and wouldnt absorb the water as much.... the only other way i know to get a semi gloss type paint is to use reg. paint and not add a hardner or something into it... once my body work is done i would like to do a suede type paint.

Thanks
Rat

Sweet deal Tim. Hopefully mine will look like that soon. So far I have the passenger door, tailgate, and right rear (now scratched, dented, and tweaked badly) fender done. I just bought a new Sony cyber-shot 5 megapixel cam, and decided to take a few pics, so here's what the old girl looks like as of today. If I wouldn't have spent yesterday in chicago, I could have gotten some more primer work done.

(edit) I would also like to know about the paint. (edit)

Thanks for all the great comments again guys. The paint is made by Endura, a company out of Edmonton Alberta that has distributors all over North America. I believe the website is www.endura.ca . the product is actually very affordable too. You can also use Sikkens Rally black or John Deere Blitz Black for the same effect.
