Speedo question

Trying to get my speedo working. I have a new cable, if I spin the end of the new cable it moves the speedo needle. I replaced the bullet in the trans at one point due to the seal and the gear looked ok. What else or what should I check? What test and how. Thanks.

Re: Speedo question

Trans end plastic gear with square hole that the cable end fits in, not stripped out?

Re: Speedo question

Unscrew cable at speedo, drive, and verify the cable is turning. Then pull the bullet again and look and diagnose.

Is there a way to pull a bullet without all the transmission fluid draining out? I guess maybe having the rear on jack stands?

Re: Speedo question

Park with the front of the truck lower (like backing into driveway) and jack up from rear when doing it.
