Any issues with notching bed crossmember to clear dropped shackles?
I need to cut clearance notches in the bed support u-channel to clear dropped shackles. Seems to me like I'm gonna lose some bed and even fender rigidity, since that u-channel supports the outer sides of the bed. I may even try to find a similar u-channel, or come up with something to install 5-6" closer to the tailgate.
Comments?

Re: Any issues with notching bed crossmember to clear dropped shackles?
cut it out for dropped shackles many times, doesn't affect a thing
actually, I just cut out my 86 I have lowered just yesterday so I could lower it another 1", now im finally happy with my stance pic is at a show a few weeks ago with only the flip kit installed (before I dropped it another inch in rear). I haven't taken any pics of it since I installed the drop shackles yesterday, but it def looks better now....an inch makes all the difference
