WTB Black choke knob

Need a solid black knob for the choke cable on my 1967 c50. The threads pulled out and all the ones I can find are chrome/silver in the middle.

Thanks

Re: WTB Black choke knob

if you don't find one, you can always try filling the original hole with slow cure JB weld, drill and tap the correct size...you'd be surprised how well it works

Re: WTB Black choke knob

That's a 67 only non-deluxe knob. The 68-72 non-deluxe knobs are different....If it makes a difference. They will fit perfectly, it would just be a preference thing.

Re: WTB Black choke knob

You can drill an put a heli-coil thread in it.
Some people would be glad to have that Knob as it is.
If you find another one and choose not to fix the one you have?
I would like to have the option to purchase that knob.
Thanks
Dwayne

Re: WTB Black choke knob

Pretty sure I have a 68-72 standard choke knob. Can look tomorrow in the parts stash. No stainless steel center, just plain black plastic. Let me know if interested.

Re: WTB Black choke knob

Thanks for the help guys, didn't realize all the differences from a 67 to 68-72.

I'm gonna try the epoxy/helicoil route and see how it goes. Ill update the thread.

Re: WTB Black choke knob

My very early build 1968 has that same knob and it is stripped to. I posted a WTB one time and someone said they had one they would sell me, but it was helicoiled and I passed. Probably should have bought it, but I was just thinking I would helicoil mine, but have never done it.

Here's the thread:

Re: WTB Black choke knob

Well I picked up some JB weld today and it says it can be drilled and tapped. If that doesn't work then I'll drill out the JB weld and helicoil it. Thank you all for the help! Learning alot here already.

Gotter did! Tapped the JB weld, used the NOS cable I got from EBay, and we're back in business. Thanks again everyone, this thread can be closed!
