Factory Rocker/Torsion Box
Can someone who has an original Rocker box on their blazer post up some photos. I'm replacing mine and there is a large gap against part of the A pillar. This gap was present on mine before I replaced them but I just want to confirm.
It's probably worth filling in regardless, but I'm just curious how that area came from the factory

Re: Factory Rocker/Torsion Box
Is yours original or have you patched it?

Re: Factory Rocker/Torsion Box
If the consensus is that it came with a gap from the factory, what is everyone's opinion on leaving it vs filling it. Would it allow a bunch of road debris to get into the rocker box?

Re: Factory Rocker/Torsion Box
Your inner fenders and outer fenders block it but I'm sure stuff still gets in there.

Re: Factory Rocker/Torsion Box
The gap is factory. I'd leave the gap personally. Make sure the drain hole is there, and apply a thick coating of your choice covering all the metal in there including the subfloor bracing, etc.
Down the road if you want to clean out any build up you can just unbolt the back end cap near the rear tire and hose/clean it out. |

Re: Factory Rocker/Torsion Box
I'm sealing mine. The old ones had 5 pounds of acorns and mouse crap in them.
Good luck, Rg

Re: Factory Rocker/Torsion Box
I sealed mine as well. My rocker boxes were full of mouse or rats nest material
Here is a picture before I sealed them. Sorry, don’t know why it’s sideways |
