Driver side front blinker/ light issue
I replaced the turn signal switch on my 71 since the flasher knob was broken. Also got new bulbs since several where not working. Now the front driver side blinkers stay flashing even when the truck is off without the keys so it kills my battery. I connected the wires exactly like the old switch was. Also noticed that the bulbs fit loose on the socket. If I push them down, bulbs work. How can I tighten the sockets for a better contact. Any info/ help is appreciated.

Re: Driver side front blinker/ light issue
Check the two middle wires on the steering column harness. One is brown and one is purple
The brown one is hot all the time and the purple is hot only with the key on. If they are switched You'll get battery power that will flash the turn signal with the key off. You may not have the correct bulbs in the light sockets or the springs in the sockets may be weak. If you can push the connector up into the socket far enough you might be able to stretch the spring out where it will make better connection on the bulb.
